Pre-departure
I'm currently spending a few weeks back at home with my parents between my job in Spain and my my new job in Japan. It's my birthday next weekend (29th July) so I'm trying to plan a Sunday afternoon in Cartmel with all my old school friends an some of my family. Most of my days at home I'm spending studying Japanese and trying to decide what to take to Japan. I fly out to Tokyo on the 2nd August and spend a few days there on a induction course for all the new JETs, then on Wednesday 6th I fly down to Kagoshima, take the train to Higashiichiki in Hioki city and move into my new flat. Japanese school term starts at the beginning of September so I'll have a few weeks to settle in, get to know everybody and prepare some lessons before I start teaching.
